Our Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) resin is a melt-processable fluoropolymer designed for high-performance wire and cable applications. Produced by Shenzhen Teflon New Material Technology Co., Ltd., these resins offer the perfect balance of chemical resistance, electrical insulation, and thermal stability.
Unlike PTFE, our FEP pellets are specifically optimized for high-speed screw extrusion, making them the ideal choice for thin-walled wire insulation, automotive cables, and industrial jackets.
Superior Thermal Stability: Continuous service temperature of 200°C, with short-term resistance up to 260°C.
Excellent Dielectric Properties: Low dielectric constant ( 2.15) and loss factor, ensuring minimal signal attenuation in high-frequency data cables.
Stress Cracking Resistance: Engineered to prevent cracking in complex cable geometries and harsh environments.
High-Speed Processing: With an MFI range from 0.8 to 30 g/10min, our grades support everything from heavy-duty pump linings to ultra-fine 22AWG wire coating.
Chemical & Flame Resistance: UL-94 V-0 rated flame retardancy and near-total immunity to most solvents, acids, and fuels.
| Grade | Melt Flow Index (MFI) | Primary Application | Target Wire Gauge |
| TFL200 | 0.8 - 2.0 | Heavy-duty Linings / Heat Shrink | High Stress |
| TFL202 | 5.1 - 8.0 | General Purpose Extrusion | ≤6.0 |
| TFL204 | 13 - 17 | High-Speed Wire Insulation | 12AWG (≤ 3.0) |
| TFL208 | 17 - 30 | Ultra-Thin Wall Extrusion | 22AWG (≤ 1.5) |
Tensile Strength: ≥ 22 MPa
Elongation at Break: ≥ 310%
Melting Point: 265±10℃
Automotive Industry: High-temperature sensor wiring and engine compartment cables.
Aerospace & Defense: Lightweight, flame-retardant wiring for avionics.
Telecommunications: Insulation for high-speed data transmission and coaxial cables.
Industrial: Chemical-resistant linings for pumps, valves, and heat-shrinkable tubing.
Extrusion Temp: Recommended processing range is between 300℃and 400℃.
Safety Warning: DO NOT exceed 420℃ to prevent the release of toxic decomposition gases.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place. Our 25kg vacuum-sealed packaging ensures zero moisture contamination.
With over 10 years of manufacturing expertise, we provide more than just raw materials. We offer technical support for extrusion parameter optimization and customized MFI grades to match your specific production line requirements.
A: Selection depends on your wire gauge and extrusion speed.
For high-speed extrusion of thin-wall wires (e.g., 22AWG or smaller), we recommend high MFI grades like TFL208 (MFI 17-30).
For standard industrial cables (12AWG-18AWG), TFL204 (MFI 13-17) is the most versatile choice.
For heavy-duty insulation or stress-resistant linings, low MFI grades like TFL200 (0.8-2.0) offer the best mechanical durability.
Q: What is the main difference between FEP and PTFE in cable applications?
A: While both offer excellent heat and chemical resistance, the key difference is processability. FEP is melt-processable, allowing for continuous, high-speed injection molding and screw extrusion, whereas PTFE requires a much slower paste extrusion and sintering process. FEP also offers better optical clarity and higher flexibility.
Q: Why does FEP insulation sometimes crack during or after extrusion?
A: FEP is sensitive to internal stress. Cracking (Stress Cracking) usually occurs due to an incorrect match between the MFI and the wire's cross-sectional area, or improper cooling speeds. To prevent this, ensure you are using the correct grade (refer to our MFI-to-AWG mapping table) and maintain a stable temperature gradient during the cooling phase.
Q: What are the recommended temperature settings for FEP extrusion?
A: Standard processing temperatures range from 300°C to 400°C. It is critical not to exceed 420°C, as FEP will begin to decompose and release toxic fluorinated gases. Always ensure your extrusion workshop has a professional ventilation system.
Q: Is your FEP resin compliant with international environmental standards?
A: Yes. All products from Shenzhen Teflon are RoHS and REACH compliant. We can provide SGS test reports upon request to ensure your cables meet the strict environmental regulations of markets like Europe and North America.
Q: How should FEP resin be stored to maintain its properties?
A: FEP should be stored in a clean, dry, and cool environment, away from direct sunlight. Our 25KG double-layered packaging is designed to prevent moisture and contamination. We recommend keeping the bags sealed until the moment of production to ensure the highest dielectric performance.
Q: Do you offer samples for trial production?
A: Yes, we support sample orders for technical testing and color matching. Contact our sales team with your specific MFI and application requirements, and we will provide the most suitable grade for your trial.
Q: What is the standard packaging and lead time?
A: Our standard packaging is 25KG per bag. For stocked grades (like TFL204/208), we typically ship within 3-7 business days. For customized requirements or large industrial orders, lead times will be confirmed based on the production schedule.
