Custom options include:
PTFE capillary tube is a small-diameter tube made from polytetrafluoroethylene. It is also called Teflon tubing, PTFE micro tubing or PTFE insulating sleeve. It is commonly used for electrical insulation, wire protection, chemical transfer, air lines, laboratory equipment and precision instruments.
PTFE is the material name, and Teflon is a commonly used trade name for PTFE material. In many industrial applications, PTFE tube and Teflon tube refer to the same type of fluoropolymer tubing.
S-Type, T-Type and L-Type usually refer to different wall thickness options of PTFE tubing. For the same AWG size and inner diameter, the outer diameter may be different depending on the type.
Generally:
The final choice depends on insulation requirement, flexibility, pressure condition and installation space.
We supply standard AWG PTFE tubing from AWG 30 to AWG 0. The inner diameter range is approximately 0.30 mm to 8.38 mm. Different outer diameters are available for S-Type, T-Type and L-Type.
Custom OD, ID and wall thickness can also be produced according to customer requirements.
A PTFE tube is a plastic tube made from polytetrafluoroethylene. It is known for high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, low friction and excellent electrical insulation. PTFE tubes are widely used in chemical transfer, wire protection, air lines, laboratory equipment and industrial applications.
PTFE is the material name, while Teflon is a well-known trade name often used for PTFE products. In many applications, people use “PTFE” and “Teflon” to refer to the same fluoropolymer material.
In most industrial use, PTFE tube and Teflon tube refer to the same type of tubing. PTFE describes the material, and Teflon is a common trade name associated with PTFE-based products.
A PTFE hose is often called a Teflon hose because the hose liner is made from PTFE material. However, the full hose structure may also include stainless steel braid, rubber cover or other reinforcement layers depending on the application.
PTFE tubing is used for chemical transfer, electrical insulation, wire protection, air and gas lines, laboratory equipment, precision instruments, 3D printers and high temperature industrial systems.
PTFE tubing can typically work from about -60°C to +260°C. It is suitable for many high-temperature applications, but the actual working limit may depend on pressure, tube size, medium and installation conditions.
Yes. PTFE tubing has excellent resistance to many acids, alkalis, solvents and corrosive chemicals. It is commonly used in chemical equipment, laboratory systems and industrial fluid transfer.
PTFE tubing has moderate flexibility. It is not as soft as silicone or PVC tubing, but it offers better high temperature resistance, chemical resistance and electrical insulation. For better transparency or flexibility, FEP or PFA tubing may also be considered.
Yes. PTFE tube is widely used as an electrical insulation sleeve for wires, cables, sensors and electronic components. It performs well in high temperature and chemically harsh environments.
PTFE tubing has excellent high temperature resistance, low friction and insulation performance. FEP tubing is more transparent and flexible. PFA tubing offers better high-purity performance and is suitable for more demanding chemical and semiconductor applications.
